Senior Segment Producer Job
Senior Segment Producer sought by Mythical Entertainment, LLC in Burbank, CA.
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for taking the production lead on a large share of Good Mythical Morning episodes,
as well as other Mythical projects and endeavors, as they arise. Report directly to the Good
Mythical Morning Showrunner, responsible for comprehensive production oversight of multiple
Good Mythical Morning episodes and company projects, at any given time. This includes but is
not limited to: Cross-functional team coordination (Writers, Art Department, Culinary
Department, Post Production, Short Form, Merchandising) ensuring deadlines are met and
creative visions are achieved; monitor post-production processes to ensure accurate completion
of details; keep episodes and projects within budget; prepare celebrity guests for their on-air
appearances; and manage third-party integrations, from start to finish. Monitor efficiency of
production workflow, always looking for opportunities to improve and streamline systems.
Expected to make both logistical and creative decisions when met with unexpected production
dilemmas or complications. Mentor junior members of the production team, teaching them how
to successfully take on their own roles, as well as making sure they are in a position to grow
within the company in a competent fashion. Manage and coordinate the successful final delivery
of in-studio elements, during shoots; and prepare hosts with full episodic rundowns. Keep an
awareness of viral trends across YouTube and social media.
Specific duties include:
- Work as on-screen talent when needed.
- Review episode edits and provide notes to editors until picture lock.
- Break down scripts to identify any art, culinary, and tech needs— then fill out the Art/Culinary
needs and GFX needs documents for the respective episodes.
- Perform tests and rehearsals for episodes that require them.
- Coordinate with Art/Culinary and GFX departments to make sure things look, work, and taste
the way it should and deliver on time.
- Provide hosts and any guests with entire episode rundowns prior to taping and provide
feedback during episode taping as needed.
- Write down any creative or edit notes for the Post team during episode tapings.
- Attend scheduling meetings to ensure shoot days are scheduled properly with enough time
allotted for the Segment Producer’s episodes.
- Prep for and lead Production Meetings to ensure everyone is on the same page on the different
elements of the episode’s creatives.
- Notify Wardrobe / Merch team for any episodes that require special wardrobe item.
- Mentor junior members of the production team.
- Ensure that the episode met all product integration requirements for any episodes with product
integrations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Producing, Video Production, Entertainment, Media or related
field, plus one (1) year of experience in television or digital media production.
*Specific skills: Also requires experience or knowledge in the following:
- Comedy-forward television
- Game-based / game-show television
- Live stage and livestream show producing.
- Google Suite, Slack, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, OBS, SurveyMonkey, and Cashet.
- Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, including engagement techniques/optimizations, and backend
results.
- Editing process and working with creative budgets.
- Operating sound equipment, cameras, and set-up lights for both in-studio and remote shoots.
- Handling props for shoots and selecting appropriate props for the specific creative needs.
- Producing episodes at all stages of development from pitch to air.
- Preparing pitches for short form content and original shows.
- Organizing auditions and casting.
*Any level of experience or knowledge in the specific skills is acceptable.
Salary for this position is $100,000 per year.
